I had the previous model, the UltraCyclone Pro (UCP) for 4 years. There isn't anything that vac wouldn't pick up. Unfortunately I killed it by accidentally picking up something soaked in water. So I got this to replace it. The UCP had to be plugged in. This one has a stand with a charging port built in.
The UCP had a dirt bin that would only open by pressing a button, then pulling the door open manually. This one ejects the debris when you slide the latch. Quite forcefully too. You better be standing above a trash bin, or there's gonna be stuff everywhere!
One thing the UCP had that this one doesn't have is a detachable powerhead. But, truth be told, I hardly ever used it. So I don't think I'll miss it.
The UCP was rather big and bulky. This one is sleek and elegant.
The UCP would run out of power after 15 minutes or so of continuous use. I have yet to find out when this one's battery will peter out.
Also, the UCP's battery was incapable of being replaced. This one has a replaceable battery.
So, as you can see the Shark Wandvac is superior in almost every respect. But, I don't expect to discover whether it can pick up water!

Good vacuum for small messes
I bought this vacuum to clean up after my two toddlers ate. This vacuum is great for that. For crumbs on the counter, high chair and floor. I would not consider this a vacuum for deep cleaning. I have a full size dyson for that. But for small quick messes it is good. It diesnt look bad on the charging station on the counter either.
